HYPERTECH CHIP?
In my efforts to cool down my 89 engine temp. i have a question? Hypertech claims to more aggressive timing and fuel curves for more power. What about engine temp. when fan kicks on? DOES HYPERTECH TURN ON FAN (ONLY 1 FAN) SOONER- LOWER ENGINE TEMP.

Dont bother with a hypertech chip...you can have the fan come on sooner by changing the fan switch to one that kicks them on at a lower temp.The switches are usually less than 20 bucks.I used this on my 86 to turn the fan on at 200 and off at 190 degrees.It works great.Dont need a 100+ dollar chip to do that.
Also,be sure the area between the radiator and a/c condensor is clear of debris.This is a common problem with C4's.This area fills up with leaves and junk that it blocks airflow.I usually clean this area out once a year.
As far as power goes,your best bet is to have a custom prom made instead.
Ive tried hypertech and ads chips before and was not impressed.

:iagree: dont buy any off-the-shelf chips
get you a fan switch, lower temp tstat, bump your base timing up

Bill... have 87 and was wondering where the switch is located and exactly what to ask for... and if you should know... where to get one... thanks
