What's a good cleaner for the TB/Intake? I just ran a bottle of Chevron Injector cleaner, and want to finish the job.. Any recommendations?? I know you can't do a 100% thorough job by cleaning the TB with it mounted, but I still want to give it a shot......
I'm going to have to show my ignorance and ask what I hope is not too silly of a question, but why would anyone need to "clean" the throttle body anyway? Only air goes through it, and not any fuel, right?

What am I missing here?
Not a stupid question at all... Take off your intake closest to your TB and run your fingers along the butterfly, and I'll bet you come out with a couple of black fingers... If not black, at least dirty... Crap builds up in there.
CRC cleaners are some of the best out there. Use throttle body cleaner and
an old tooth brush, get 2 cans if its really bad. Heavy duty rubber gloves are good to have for this task also. Oh yea, dont forget saftey glasses! :D
Ok, I have a stupid question now... Do you leave the car running, or does it have to be off? Like the old carb cleaner, you leave it running, while feathering the throttle, and it smokes like a burning building!!

I have gumout and i think it says to spray it while its running, either way it should say on the cleaner.
Ok, well I got a can of STP, and it says spray with engine off. I also got a can of gumout, and it says you can do it either way.. So, I'm assuming it won't hurt anything to run the cleaner through your tb?!?
