ok i have a 91 l98 with this damn p.a.s.s. key system. it keeps leaving us stuck everywhere. new keys but when you pull codes from ccm its a 51 whick is bad key code, then for no reason it will start normal!! is there any way to bypass or disconnect this thing so the car will start all the time?? its getting worse or can you get a regular non-diode ignition switch?? im baffled and wife is getting kinda cranky about it as she drives the car to work everyday... any help would be appreciated????? thanks

You can buy a plug in to by-pass the pass key. Or if you can determine the code you can just plug in that resistance. You will need to determine the resistance of the pill.
BTW, I own a 31 Cadillac that was owned at one time by a man that ran Colonial Auto Body in Tyngsboro Mass.

Do you have an aftermarket alarm system that you don't know about. The reason I state this is if you bought the car used it may have had another aftermarket installed that you don't know about. It may be the problem; I know because I just went through this on my 87 vert that I purchased used.
