Default TPI to Carb Q's.

Well, I've been thinking of ways to kill the crappy 4,500rpm wall the TPI makes. I was going to do a LT1 conversion, but then put my car up for sale.. so that never happened. Now the car is still for sale... and the power bug is STILL itching. So, a quick, cheap simple alternative is a 4brl set up. all I want is a basic dual plane manifold, and 650 mechanical 4 barrel set up. I'm pissed off, and tired of the TPI design. If i do this, I wanna do it right, and not the Redneck "willard" way. Do any of you guys know about hood clearances with the air cleaners?? b/c i knew a guy way back when who did one on his 88 and had some clearance problems. For a carb i am 99% set on a Demon Jr or whatever. My friend actually has over 3G's in his 11Sec 454 Monte so I'm listening to him on that.... I know for a distributor I'll need a vacuum old school thing. Any tips, hints, power gains??? anything.... 2 cents please...

This is just my opinion, but if your selling your car you should keep it fuel injected. These cars dont sell for good money once their chopped up. And depending on where you are, it may not pass emisions.

i agree, if your selling it then leave it alone.

But i'm switching mine too and have researched this quite a bit. There are some other members. I have been advised to use a weiand stealth intake and a drop base air cleaner. I think the RPM performer would be too high.

Once again if your selling it, don't do it.

My plan was/is to do the swap within the next week and then just keep it up for sale.... if it sells cool, if not... i'll continue driving it and enjoying it.
 ah... I don't know what to do. It's not like the car is "stock" now anyway, it's got headers, custom Mandrel bent exhaust, racing seats, 5 points, Custom Stereo system, ZR1 wheels, Lowered 1", Ram air etc...

DAD racing seats. NICE, blk, reclinable, slideable, and comfortable. :)
I'm willing to trade them for some Black stock seats b/c of the "selling" thing.

Do you have a web site for those seats ? I tried to put jazz plastic seats in and their too wide.

Do you want to sell the racing seats ? Mine are stock and have red and black covers on them.
