Driving today my car starting acting like it was going to stall out. I saw that the temputer was showing the word "LOW"...then it would start bouncing around, going from 188 down to 177 back up, back down, so on and so on. Then it would run fine, then back to showing "LOW" etc...... Does anyone know what would be causing this????? HELP.....Oh, I've put in a new radiator about 2-3 months ago. So I don't think it's anything to do with that. Maybe a sencor????
You're talking about the digital temp read out? It printed "LOW"? Gee, learn something new every day. I'd look at the connector to the sensors on the water pump and on the side of the engine.
Yeah, sorry it's a 94 and it has the digital read out. It was the weirdest thing, I've never seen it before either. I thought about the sensor on the water pump to, but it's also only about 2-3 months old.
most likely a sensor, I had the same thing with my oil temp a while back. It went on the fritz after a long drive through snow, but a few days later I guess it dried out or whatever since it is fine now.
Just fixed mine from doing the same thing. It was the sensor on the front of the waterpump.. I cracked the connector when I installed the Crossbar..
I had the same problem with the sensor in front of the pump. At least your car was still running. Mine decided to die on the highway right before the tollbooth. They still make you pay for the toll even if you push your car through. I found that the plastic casing had separated from the metal sensor. I Pushed it back on the best I could and made it home thankfully.
