When I'm accelerating up a hill, my A/C will (which is on AUTO) will divert air to the lower half and cut off the top half. Yesterday I tried to "force" it to stay on the top half by putting the A/C on top vents only. Well, when I went up a hill, it sucked all the cold air out of it and was blowing warm, humid air. Is this normal? I have had this car for 7 months now and have not noticed this before. If this requires fixing, what do I do?
Also, my cruise control is out of whack. If I set it on 75, it will get to 75.....eventually. First it will slow down to, say, 63 before it kicks in. If it's a flat road it will stay on 75 for the most part but anything hilly will make it inaccurate, like it is drunk or something.
Are these 2 problems related? How do I get all this back on track?
I found it. I did a search and came upon a thread concerning the check valve under the passenger side fuel rail cover. It broke completely off when I took the fuel rail cover off, so now A/C works on lower half only and cruise doesn't work. I will get the part Tuesday from a local Chevy dealership since no auto part store in the area has the part. I'm sure glad I searched on here, I could've ended up paying a hefty hourly rate for a mechanic to find this.
