I have a set of shortie headers installed. On the passenger side of the motor there are 2 fuel lines that comes up beside the heater core box I think? Anyway, one of the header pipes comes close to the lines but is not touching the lines. Would it be a good idea to wrap aluminum foil around the part of the fuel lines that seem close to the header so as to deflect the heat? Or am I just going to bake it inside more by doing that? Or should I just leave it alone. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance :seeya
Re: [LT4] Headers too close to fuel lines (eamador11)
I was detailing my engine this weekend & noticed the same fuel lines (stock headers). There is supposed to be a plastic clamp that captures the fuel lines & pulls them away from the headers. Mine was broken & I used a couple of tie wraps to pull the lines away. Do you still have the black plastic piece or is it gone?

I'm running JBA shorties on my 92 and have the same problem. I wrapped both fuel lines with the heat tape. I also used several tie wraps to pull the lines GENTLY away from the headers. They have about 5/8" clearance now.
