Default [Paging]: Mike_88Z51, EASE question.

Mike,

In your Ease product listing for ODBI w/ODBI Cable I see 3 things.

Available tools for GM:
OBDI
ST1-GM-BAS-1 GM OBDI Personal Basic Scan Tool with OBDI cable $295.00
ST1-GM-PL-UP GM OBDI Personal Scan Tool Basic to Plus upgrade $100.00
ST1-GM-PLUS-1 GM OBDI Personal Plus Scan Tool with OBDI cable $370.00

I can't find what the difference is between the $295 and $370 package. Did I just miss it somewhere? Thanks!!

Scorp,

where did you see that listing? I talked to Mike on Thursday last week and he had said Ease does not offer a Base package for OBDI anymore just the Plus.

My understanding on difference is the ability to chose what reading display and also the amount of HD storage allowed

scorp,

I forgot about that old Tech Tip. I wrote it a LONG time ago. I'll have to update it. Sorry about that.

Jeff is right. Ease no longer makes a Basic version. There is only what used to be called the Plus version now. The new prices are actually better than the old price since you get the better version tool for less than it used to cost.

RC-PER-GM1-1 GM OBD1 Personal Scan Tool Package w/OBD1 cable $315
RC-PER-GM1-2 GM OBD1 Personal Scan Tool Package w/OBD2 cable $350

RC-PER-GM2-01 GM OBD2 Personal Plus Scan Tool w/OBD2 cable $350.00
RC-PER-VPW-02 OBD2 Generic Data Personal Scan Tool Package, VPW Interface $275

The GM OBD2 scan tool is specifically set up for GM vehicles and will show you everything available. The Generic OBD2 VPW scan tool will scan the Federally mandated OBD2 parameters in GM vehicles. It isn't specifically setup for all GM vehicles, but it will do a good job of troubleshooting and diagnosis for the owner of a GM OBD2 vehicle who wants to save some money.
