Default High Idle

I replaced the IAC, and checked for air leaks, but cannot get my 90' L98 to Idle down. I've shorted the A & B connectors on the ALDL and waited at least 30 seconds before disconnecting the IAC. However, when I fire her up, she idles around 1500 and will not go down. With the IAC connected, it's around 1200 in park. Could my EGR be bad? :smash:

Do you have a scanner on it? What does it show the IACs position being? Is your TPS set correctly? Have you tried messing with the TB idle screw?

The TPS is not Adjustable, and last OHM reading was within tolerance. It seems that the IAC is just not extending as it should. (or at all) But, without a scanner, I can't prove this. I may just have to wait until my mechanic buddy can take a look at it. The TB idle screw can be backed out all the way, and the idle still is way high.

That defiintely doesn't lead nicely towards proper IAC operation does it. :)
