Hood will not open ! HELP
Cant get the hood open on my 86, tried the special magic tool but the passenger side of the hood will not release. what the secret .

you have mail, I could not get my hood open for three weeks I was ready to sawzall it. The battery went dead to after it ran out of gas and THEN the hood would not open.

Being a mason contractor it is the reinforcing in block & brick walls. It is 3/16" stainless. Grind it flat and like a fish hook. Somebody will copy it and sell it :lol: Only works if the cable is stretched. The drain in the bottom where the pin is gets blocked the starts to seize with corrosion I found. Use the ruler for scale so you know when you are in the right position. Press down on the side that seems locked when you pull the cable.

thats fine but the clip that holds the cable to the lever broke on mine so that hook wouldn't work, I just used the awning rod (used to pull awning down) that came with my motorhome to open the hood

Yea, though about what if the cable breakes, then what... so did this install today... just am hiding it under the rubber then up by the wipers, tucked down.. Easy to reach, and just pull toward the center of the windshield, and bingo, opens...
