Re: C4 to C5 caliper bracket adapters on E Bay now (Coupe89)
"...For those planning on installing this brake upgrade on your '84 Vette, there will be some additional machining required on your '84 steering knuckles. Send us an e-mail if you need more info regarding your '84's...."
Actually they are referring to 84-87 vettes... Guess it's not the easy 'everything needed' upgrade they claim.. Guess that's why it's dirt cheap.. :(

No, the '84 knuckle is unique unto itself, it had several mods thru the build year that by '85 were ironed out. Didn't change again 'till '88.......
Glad you think $85 is too low to be selling them for, ;)
P.S.
"corvette brakes" will locate it as well .................
I want to upgrade my -84 to Z06 brakes but do these brackets really fit the -84 ??
I thought 85-87 was one type of brakes and 88-96 another and the 84 unique
Check with Ed Salinas here on the forum. He sells adaptors.
As for the rest of the parts, visit Superior Chevrolet for a list of the parts you are going to need (and they have great prices too!) www.superchevyperformance.com
Also, check out the C5 Parts section for calipers. There are a couple of forum members that sell different colored powder coated calipers too.
Ed Salinas is the one selling those adapters on Ebay. I highly recommend them. I have them on my car, and the build quality and attention to detail is incredible. If the GP price is at $95, that is almost like stealing them! They are that good.
I asked earlier in this thread about installing the adapters on my -84 and got this info by email - I thought more people could be interested in this:
The first thing you need to do is open up the clearence holes in the knuckle, to 9/16. Then you will need to machine the surface of the knuckle that mates up to the adapters in order to center the rotor/caliper. My '84 knuckles required .070 to .080. I've been told that there were 3, maybe 4 variations during the build of the '84, the first C4... So this may differ on your car??? The pic's should be pretty clear as to what needs to be done.
Another option, is to just swap out the knuckles for '85 thru '87. You only need to do this mod on a -84 not 85-96.
