I am debating on if I should get Hooker 2149's or a Supperram. I know that the intake on the L98 was designed for a 305 but I do have a superram base manifold. But yet the L98 is very restricted on the exhaust side but I have to keep in mind I have chambered exhaust.
Are you talking about the whole Superram setup? Plenum/runners/base? Honestly, I think you will need exhaust work to see any significant gains from the superram. I would start with the headers and catback then move to the intake.
I already have a chambered exhaust. Will adding headers make my vette sound louder?
Not exactly louder but much more crisp. Trust me, it will be one of the best mods you'll do to your car SOTP and sound wise. It definitely was for me! :yesnod:
Cool, I notice you live not to far from me. I would invite you over to hear the 2149's on my car, but it's kind of in pieces right now :cry
Your forgetting the sound factor. Not only will headers give you more power but it will make your car sound straight up mean! :reddevil I think you can't really go wrong with either. It sounds to me like you'll eventually have both so it's all good. I say which ever one you can find a good deal on first, get it!
Thanks for all the input guys. does anyone what kind of increase the superram will give me? Scorp you have one what kind of numbers did it give you?
I'm not really a good comparison really. I went from a car with just mufflers/no cats and modified the whole damn thing at once with headers/intake/cam/heads. On the initial tune which is seriously rich and needs major help I went from 211rwhp to 322rwhp.
LPDesroche put a SR on his old 91 and ran 13.2 I think with it with nearly nothing else for mods on it.
