Default Dash burned bulb?

After 114000 miles I have my first dash problem that i think will be a quik fix. On the tach side of the dash it is very dim in the day or night. I can still see all of the leds. Is this probably the 882 bulbs burned out?

Sounds like a good guess to me. You don't have to remove the entire display to change it. I removed the bezel. Removed the little aluminum caps over the bulbs. Used a pair of needle-nose plies to remove the old buld, and then used them to insert the new bulb into the holder. Be careful not to bend the legs on the bulb. ~30 minutes.

A short piece of tubing will allow you to remove the bulb and the same tubing will help insert the new bulb; may have to use a small insert in the tube to hold the bulb in place while you remove the tube from the bulb. DDo not get finger greese on the new bulb.

And those little metal covers are called heatsinks.
