Default ??s for those with TPIS headers

From what I can tell by looking at the headers, the y-pipe is a slip fit on them. How hard is it to get the pipe back off to drop the header if you'd have to change the starter or do some head work? Also, how hard is it to remove the dipstick tube when you install the headers? A final question, do you have to use their EGR tube or would the late style L98 one work? Thanks.

The Y-pipe isn't that hard to get off, just don't install it backwards (don't ask me how I know...lol). The oil dipstick tube isn't hard to get out, just be very gentle with it. I either used vice grips or channel locks to get it out...very carefully of course. I can't help you on the EGR stuff. I opted for the TPIS race headers and got rid of all the EGR. I believe that the TPIS headers are a complete bolt-on, so they should work on your car without any modification. TPIS can tell you if you call them. Good luck with your decision.

The y pipe isn't bad at all. I used anti seize on the slip fittings to make them slide on easier and then I put a rivot through each fitting to keep them from sliding back. The dip stick is simple as well.....it's kinda like working with a virgin.......be gentle and you'll get what you want.
