Just changed the front shocks from Bilsteins to KYB, did the rears last week no problem. Now after changing the fronts while backing the car up in the driveway hear a clunking sound like something was loose, also noticed the car bounces, soI take it all apart again and use the rubber bushings from the bilsteins thinking that is where the play is. Put it back together and still clunking like something is loosem and the car bonces just backing up in the driveway??? Check again all is tight, what gives.
PS I can't put the old bilsteins back on because I had to cut the top shaft off to get the shock out the end above the nut was rounded and couldn't even hold it with a vice grip. Does anyone have any idea what's up, shocks are brand new but they had a little rust color stain at the bottom but they seem fine????????
Thanks for any help
No pads in rear and front are brand new, I guess shocks could be bad, like I said the car seems to bounce immediately when I back the car up and go foward.
