After trying to decide where to mount my transmission cooler on my 85 I thought the best place would probably be down on the crossmemeber like the power steering cooler cars have it mounted...so I designed a bracket to bolt on the crossmember that accepts a B&M 15,000GVW supercooler and fits neatly up above the crossmember and the -6 lines go right under the radiator and the whole thing goes in an hour. What do you guys think? Maybe I'll start selling them since I designed it in a CAD/CAM program and I get them stamped with all the holes already in them. I did one of my cars with XRP AN llines and I think I'll do the other one with goodyear hi-pressure hose and fittings for a more oem look..we'll see...
Re: Finished My Trans Cooler Install (Corvette0096)
I would buy a kit from you if you ever do sell them. Only thing is will they fit on a 95 since it has a PS cooler. Can you sell the braided hoses and fittings for cooler?
Sure, I could sell you just the hose kit if you want. I am doing a Stainless braided version with XRP hose and ends and an SAE Hi-Pressure hose kit with Goodyear hose if you prefer a more OEM look. I will have either the complete kits, or just the bracket/hardware kits and hose kits available within 2 weeks.
Re: Finished My Trans Cooler Install (eguyett1985)
I took a few more today when it was light but not so good. I'll post some more next week when I install one on another car up on a rack so you can get a better idea. I tried to get a GM P/S Cooler today to see if my bracket can be modified to accept both coolers but they are disco. from GM. So I will order an aftermarket one from Perma Cool and see what we can do with that instead...I'm not sure it's gonna work but we'll give it a try.
