I recently had a new AC compressor installed; the thing vibrates the whole car at idle. I thought with some miles it might break-in, but I've put about 3000 miles with no change. Before I take it back to the shop, perhaps one of you AC gurus could give me some idea what's going on. Thanks.
An AC shop did the work; good history on them, so surely they did. I want some info to back me up when I take it back. Buzzes the whole car around 800-1100 RPM.
some compressor need a muffler but i thought they were only on fords. if they forgot the oil it would have siezed by now. I'd bring it back to the shop now before it gets worse
My '86 does it too, and I put two more compressors on to try and fix it. I also disassembled the brackets for the accessory drive so I could see and check everything, still no luck. I gave up on the problem for now, I have brackets for the '88 and up Nippondenso compressor in storage, so when I do my motor rebuild I might change over to the newer style. After looking at bothsetups more closely, it looks like it won't be easy though.
