Usually your oil temp will be ten to twenty degrees higher than your coolant temp. I usually don't set mine to display. The volt meter is more important to me to keep it visible.

With no cooling mods, temps in the 220-240 range are not uncommon.

Just dont let it get above 250 with those aluminum heads.

Coolant will be 10-20F below oil usually. The fans should come on at 228F and the auxiliary fan at 238 (if you have one).

I find oil temps are 20 deg above coolant on average.

From time to time, like in mountains, oil temps can run 30 ahead of coolant and sometimes coolant(in traffic) can exceed oil for a while

But generally, I would be concerned if oil temps were above 210 and coolant above 190 on sustained driving

Frankly, even on warmest days, running 65 or so, my coolant is 175 to 180 and oil is 196 to 198

Have you removed the Rad and cleaned between the rad and the ac condensor? What thermo are you running?

Jack

:withstupid: The highest I've seen mine is 239.

I agree with the others that the oil is 10 degrees higher than coolant. However my temps are 202 and 212+-. This is in stop and go traffic.

Good luck,
Tim

I was getting 220-250 on the oil when I was stock but those temps were high b/c my radiator area was clogged. After cleaning out the radiator area, putting in a 160 stat and programming the chip to make the fan come on earlier, I was getting 175-215 for the oil.
