Hood...gas shock
OK, I'm tired of lifting the entire weight of my hood..I do it a lot at the track...I saw a replacement in the Ecklers catalogue for $70...is there a better place to get it ?...how about a better product ?....thanks

Be careful of the aftermarket repalcements, I purchased one from O'Reilly's, it was too long in the retracted position. It caused my hood to bow and I almost never got the hood back open again :eek: . I ended up buying a GM piece and it worked fine, it also has the safety latch on it where the aftermarket did not.

That's what I wanted to hear !...thanks...Autozone has one for $59.99 but I was a bit concerned...guess I'll call Superior Chevy... :thumbs:

Thanks..FWIW, I ordered an OEM unit from Chris @ Superior Chevy this afternoon...best price by far...$48.00 + $6.00 shipping.. :hurray: ..this compares to $60 - $70 + shipping at the other parts houses for an aftermarket piece...

I bought mine from Corvette Central last year, still in catalog page 96.
Cost $19.95 each.
What a difference it made in opening the hood.
