Please Help! Rough idle & code 22
Hi all. I am lost. My 86 vette has developed a rough idle and threw a code 22 for the TPS voltage low. So I just replaced it and it is still running rough and hesitating. I tried to check the timing but the timing mark scale is not there and so I do not now what to do. Please, I need suggestions.

service manual says an open or short to ground in circuits 416 or 417. 417 is the dark blue middle wire of TPS and goes directly to ECM computer outlet C13. 416 is the bottom grey wire of TPS and goes to outlet C14. Diagram shows direct route (no connectors involved) can you check continunity from computer to TPS connector? or look around for bare wire. check TPS connector close for loose wire etc.

I havent hook up my scanner to my 86 or 87, but You should be able to read the tps voltage change as you open the throttle. You might want to save yourself some trouble and invest in one if you havent already.
