Default [EASE]: Question on max frames saved per-scan.

Anybody know why when I scan my car I might have scanned say for example 3000 frames of data, but when I save it and play it back I typically only have about 860-930 frames available to see. Help!!

Scorp,

The Ease scan tool will only buffer about that many frames of data in memory. To save more data than the memory buffer holds you may need to do one or two things.

1) Be sure that you are in Record mode and not just Scan mode when making a scan. Scan mode and Record mode appear the same. Be sure to start your scan with the "red dot" Record button which is the to the left of the start "arrow" Scan button. Using the start Scan button puts you in Scan mode and the red dot button puts you in Record (scan & record) mode.

Scan mode only keeps the latest memory buffer frames and does not write frames greater than the memory buffer to the disk. Record mode writes data frames exceeding the memory buffer to a temporary file on the hard drive during the scan session and when you save from Record mode all of the frames should be saved to a permanent Ease scan file on disk.

2) From the main scan grid screen menu choose "Options" submenu "Advanced" for setting the minimum hard drive space use paremeters. Don't worry about the glaring Warning message. By default:
Minimum Free Disk Space = 20 Mb.
Maximum Record Size = 500 Kb.

Change "Maximum Record Size" to a reasonable value based upon the amount of space available on your hard drive and the size of scans you anticipate saving. I use 40960 Kb or 40 Mb. Leave the other values alone and save the change.
