There's a guy in my neighborhood with a silver/black (1965?) Cobra replica. I assume it's a replica because the real ones are considered too valuable to drive (500K).
I know the engines vary, this sounds like the 427. I know they don't weigh much. I think they're geared low so 1/4 mi is probably his, BUT after that will the legendary LT4 show him who owns the road?
Just a virtual race, so no flames on how bad street racing is. I do mine at the autox.

Frog-man,
No one can tell you since no one knows what engine the Cobra/replica has.
It COULD be a stock, smog-motor Chevy SB!!!! or it could be a side-oiler.
If it were me, I wouldn't race him at all....I'd just park them side-by-side and enjoy a little bench-racing (no smack-talk, either) :)
or bring him along with you on the next SoCalMtnCruz....?
Re: Cobra replica vs. LT4 - Virtual racing (montie98)
Anything after the 1/4 mile you will crush him
I don't agree. It depends on what's in the replica. I had one with about 450 horsepower, and believe me, that much power in a light (2400 lb) car is like nothing else. It was fast at all speeds. The LT4, however, is the more comfortable, more practical, and safer car hands down.
Re: Cobra replica vs. LT4 - Virtual racing (montie98)
Stock LT4 no chance to beat him on the street race. Top speed you win.
As the above post say they are light weight 450hp = to a car with 600hp 3400bls.
PS But I certainly can give him a run for his $ with no sweat on mine blown 383LT1
Re: Cobra replica vs. LT4 - Virtual racing (rocco16)
It sounded big, probably a 427, I think I need one of those. They are just so cool looking. Would not want to trip to Vegas in one though. I think about 50 to 100 miles at a time would be it. They'd be fun miles.
Re: Cobra replica vs. LT4 - Virtual racing (Darkness)
I ran against one at a test and tune at a local 1/8 mile track. In first gear I could hang with him. (he couldnt get traction) after that he walked away from me. Had me by at least 10 car lenghts in the 1/8. His had a 302 that was supercharged. The 1000 lb weight difference does make a big difference.
