I am looking for information on how to Jack up the front and rear as well as where to place stands? My service manual only tells me about the factory Jack.
I put the floor jack at the same points for lifting in one spot. Then slide a jack stand next to the jack for safety. As for lifting the whole car, or at least one end, well, I broke down and bought a 4 post lift. :D
If you look at the bottom of the door on the crimp weld (the part that hangs straight down) there are 2 dots or small triangles that you should jack between. These are on the front and the back of the car close to the tires.
Only problem is the body panel hang's down a tad farther than the steel does so I usually flex the little part of it thazt hangs down. Jacking my car up this way has worked so far. I do all the work on it myself so far.
DO NOT jack ANYWHERE BUT the designated points; the car must be lifted / supported ONLY on a steel cross member or else you can damage the fibreglass transverse springs!!!
The first time I jacked it, I THOUGHT the jack was supposed to go behind the arrows, WRONG! - I jacked and stopped JUST early enough to realise that I was lifting on the BRAKE LINES and squished them but just short of closing them; I WAS LUCKY...
Have a look between the arrows - you'll see that's where there's steel.
Also; make SURE that when you take car to mechanics or tyre places for wheel balances etc; that you TELL THEM (Even if they THINK they know the right way) to ONLY jack at this point! Better for them to think you're a crackpot than break a spring ($$$$). This scenario mightn't be as bad in the USA but over here in Australia where there are virtually no corvettes, they simply don't KNOW this unless you tell them.
YES; You WILL flex the skirt and crack a bit of paint, but thats life.
What is that connected to the Jack and where does it go?
Can you place the jack on the front crossmember (theres a piece of steel covering the spring that crosses both front wheels)and lift both front wheels at the same time?
There has to be another way besides those arrows, bending and cracking dont seem like the right way. With the emergency jack right, with a floor jack no.
The front can be lifted by jacking up the front crossmember according to my service manual. You might have to drive it up on some boards to get the jack under the car.

:iagree: That's what I do if I need to remove the front wheels.
The Jack-A-Vette replaces the round saddle on the floor jack with an upside down "T" shaped piece of metal which fits between the exhaust pipes(as shown in the pic) and lifts the car by the diff. carrier.
I use the Jack-a-vette for the rear and a flat jack pad under the front cross member for the front. If I'm changing oil, I just lower the car onto my rino ramps. I do need to drive up on 2x6's to get the jack under both front and rear. You can get a jack-a-vette from Corvette central. Just search under C4's a type "jack". It's kinda pricey at $50, but once you use it, it's worthe every penny.
Also remember that you can use a hockey-puck with a regular hydralic jack at the factory lift points to make it much easier and prevend damage to your finish.
