This past weekend on a cruise, I noticed in high (overdrive) at 50-55 mph, accelerating without downshifting, the trans felt like it was slipping (SOMP). I had reset the TV cable to specs, however, the shift from 1st to 2nd was more like whiplash shifting. I moved the cable 2 "clicks" forward and the shifting is far more tolerable. Still solid between all gears save the shift from 3rd to 4th and that has always been a little mushy. I have 113,000 on the clock and since I have owned it, fluid and filter every 20k to 25K. Could the TV adjustment cause it to slip in overdrive? Or am I due for a major cash investment? If a re-build is in the offing, is there a proformance upgrade I should be looking at? I would like to do some autox in the near future and this will probably have a bearing on how soon I could do that.
As always, thank in advance for the info and help.

Move the TV cable toward the firewall a little and see if the 3-4 shift firms up enough. If not, you are due for a rebuild, or close to it.
In that case get a performance rebuild with a TransGo shift kit. You might even consider installing a 2,000rpm TC for a little better launch with very good street maners too.
I had this kind of work done over a year ago and am very pleased with the results.
Thanks - will try the move tonight. Hope that works. If it doesn't, any ideas on the cost of the rebuild, shift kit and TC? Would I be better off taking it to someone like J&D Corvette or could a reputable trans shop handle it (NOT Aamco)
