That's a good drawing! Except...before and after the cat, it's a single pipe...the cat isn't dual in/out. Only single :) Here's a pic of a L98 Cat-Back System: (Which I highly recommend)
So I guess this is what people meen by our Exhaust systems not being true dual exhaust, we would need two CAT with two seperate pipes or woudl need two entry's in 1 CAT and 2 Exits.
Cool! I actualy understand pretty damn good now.
Ps: I already have a Cat back exaust system "flowmaster" :)
I know that it sounds cool, but is there a noticible performance difference??
The aftermarket exhausts flow more than stock, which has to meet noise requirements. Just about any of the popular catbacks (Power Effects, Borla, B&B, Flows) give about 10hp, depending on combination.
You would notice a difference at the track, but its unlikely your butt can really feel 10hp
My pre-cats on the car were gutted out yesterday, the one on the passenger side broke and instead of having them replaced the mechanic just gutted them out.
The sound comming out of the exaust is deffinatly deeper.
Did this add a bit of HP? I figure it must have since the front Y pipe must be flowing a lot easier.
