No more code 32!
What I did was use a 12v SPST relay from Radio Shack. Connect the leads that were on the EGR solenoid to the coil of the relay. Put the sensor lead on one side of the relay switch and connect a wire from the other switch contact to frame ground.
Now when the ECM signals the EGR to turn on the relay energizes and the sensor wire reports that the EGR is hot. When the ECM turns off the EGR the relay relaxes and the sensor wire reports that the EGR has cooled down.
This seems to be working. I have not had a code 32 since I put this on about 3 weeks ago. Total cost is about $7 with connectors and flex tubing.
I got a relay with a mounting tab on it and put it on the blower housing using an existing screw. The flex tubing is pulled down a little to show the slip on connectors. Here are some pictures.

Disclaimer: This appears to be safer than a diode fix I have seen on the WWW. The ECM is looking for a gound and that is all that it gets. There should be no way to get a wrong voltage that would blow the ECM. HOWEVER if you attempt this and smoke the ECM do not send me the bill
:nono:
Indeed using a relay is good (and maybe better) alternative to reprogramming the EPROM and there is no voltage drop across the relay contacts that might interfere with sensing the signal.
Nice work.
