I just want to know if something might be wrong with my '94. It was running about 210 at 75mph today with AC on and ambient temps of 95 to 106. When I got into s+g traffic, 106 ambient, coolant and oil temps were in high 230's. When I got home, I verified both fans were on, coolant level normal, and radiator wasn't obstructed.
Opinions ? Thanks
I have a similar question, and I'm new to the post. Just drove my 95 roadster back from Ohio. Midwest ambient air temps were cool, and on the highway, it barely got over 190 or 200.
Back in Phoenix, the first day I'm driving to work in S&G traffic and I see the temp guage move to the first un-numbered mark (which I am guessing is around 210) and then to the next mark (which I am guessing is around 230). The next and last mark is the one telling you that you just warped a head!!
This really got my attention. So, similar to the post above, where does the temp guage normally operate, particularly if you are here in the hot southwest?
Literrally take the radiator out, clean all of the debris off the front of it, and flush your coolant system. Mine did the same thing when I bought it. I would be ok cruising, but once I hit s&g, the temps would hit 230+. I cleaned the radiator out and got all the junk out from in front of it. Now I only hit 210 or 215 tops, which is well within the operating range.
