Recently, I have been experiencing some "jumping around" on the road. The steering seems to not be as tight as it was not too long ago. My 93 has 153,000 miles on it and I just had the wheels balanced and a 4 wheel alignment. They did not find anything wrong with the tire rod ends or with the rack. The shocks are still factory on the car (yes, still factory). I have a new set of shocks that I am going to be putting on this weekend. Do you think this may solve my problem? Is there anything I should look at while I am doing the shocks in particular that may need to be replaced? Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I have almost all new polyurethane bushings to go in. I have a couple more to get. I have been looking at getting new upper and lower ball joints and new tie rod ends. May have to bite the bullet soon.
with that kinda mileage, I would bet on any number of possible causes...
wheel bearings... suspension bushings... the tie rods and ball joints, too.
personally? I would overhaul the suspension.
I just finished doing this very thing to mine. Makes a world of difference. Just not as smooth as rubber so be prepared. Seems more Z51 now. Change shocks first, but you better believe you are in need of ball joints and tierod ends, you just probably don't know it.
