I am using Pro Magnum 1.6's and was wondering if these need to be adjusted from time to time or not at all.
I know there are a ton of people here using them. Are you checking them? If so, how often?
Well I'm not using the pro magnms, I'm using Scorpion 1.7 rockers but the principal is the same. I check mine whenever I feel like there is excessive noise coming from the valve covers. Other than that if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Mine were rather noisy (compared to stock) immediately upon installation so its hard to gauge if they are getting out of adjustment just on sound alone.
I guess the key word in your response is "excessive", which I don't believe to be the case at this time.
I agree if its not broke don't fix it, but I was just wondering if it should be considered a preventative maintenance item.
Mine seemed quieter than the OEM rockers and I've had the valve covers off since installation so feel a secure in the setup.
I wonder if Comp Cams has any info on their site as to maintenance and/or inspection intervals for their ProMagnums; there is no such info in their old catalog.
I've checked mine after various R/R's on engine components and or just for my peace of mind using the running method. Can rest easy knowing I did it and it's in check. Only cost me time and effort. I'd say do it. Just so you know you did it and set it to where you like.
