New to vette ownership, never worked on cars. I have a 90 vette that is a basket case, first question ( many more to come ). 90 has a very loose sterring wheel, how do I disable the air bag system and get inside to tighten the wheel?
First, welcome to the forum.... I think you will really like your 90 after you get it whipped back into shape!! Use the "search" archive function with "steering" as the search keyword and you will find many threads about repairing loose steering columns since this seems to be a common problem, probably due to using the steering wheel to help push ourselves out of the cockpit.

Re: 90 sterring wheel loose (Bump)
moves up and down side to side. With just a little downward pressure the tilt will drop a few notches also.
There are a couple of Torx head bolts that secure the column to the frame of the dash. I would check those first. You have to remove the hush panel, and maybe the metal frame to get to them.
