I'm planning on using the stock dual mass flywheel ( I don't want to put up with alot of transmission noise), Mcleod pressure plate (360823 - same as stock, according to Mcloed), and Mcleod dual friction disc (267871).
The flywheel has been resurfaced, they only took about 5 thousanths off to clean it up. They used a water based cutting fluid, and then flushed it out.
My car/engine:
1990 L98 3.33 gears
TPIS 52mm throttle body
Ported plenum
TPIS large tube runners
TPIS big mouth intake
Pocket ported and polished 113 heads
Stock Injectors
AFPR
TPIS ZZ-9 cam
Comp Cams 1.6 Pro Magnum Roller Rockers
TPIS coated headers
Random Tech converter
Flowmaster mufflers
All the free mod stuff
I just got the engine back from the machine shop - I don't know how much HP/Torque this will make. Do you think this clutch setup will hold up for street use and the occasional blast down the strip?
Re: Has anyone run this cluth combination? (FullShred)
I have heard the same. There was virtually no wear on the flywheel - I could still see the machining marks. I was planning on just lightly sanding it. However, when I took my flywheel to the machine shop to be balanced, I neglected to tell them to NOT surface the flywheel, which of course they did anyway. However, they assured me they have resurfaced dual mass flywheels before with no problems (we've been using this same shop for many years and they are trustworthy). So I'll give it a try - if it doesn't work I will see what I can negotiate with them.
