The air conditioner in my 85 hasn't worked since I bought it 6 years ago. Since I live in San Fran and don't really need air, I was contemplating removing it, not neccesarily for performance reasons but just to clean up the engine compartment.
Is anyone aware of any problems I might encounter? I know there's a pressure switch that is used to turn on the aux fan, but I've already got this setup to turn on earlier via the temp sensor. I'm thinking I'll have someone purge any remaining cooling junk, then start dismantling?
I see your point. I've survived Candlestick Park nights. I have one of those "croix" pins from the old days. Ahh.....those were some days...... I do love Pac Bell tho. Poor guy that died for his glasses. anyways.......
This A/C delete topic was mentioned a couple of days ago also. Click this link for some info http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=649199
Will take alittle creativity and effort but can be done. Oh yeah, just short out the A/C connectors or the fan will always be on.
Re: Remove air-conditioning stuff? (89 Paul in Cal)
Hey, thanks for the link. Actually, today it's pretty warm in SF, I'm actually rethinking this project. Was A/C standard on Vette's? Anyway, from reading the other thread I think it might be more than I want to bite off right now.
Too bad about that guy at Pac Bell. I just hope his stupidity kicked in before he could pass on any stupid genes....
