i noticed when i came home there was a smell of fuel around the back of the car also when i removed the gas cap it was hissing i did replace the canister and a new fuel cap so i could eleminate that any ideas????
Hissing when you remove the cap is normal; smell with the cap on isn't it. Had you just filled it and maybe got some on the boot? If not, unbolt the lid, remove the boot and check the lines.
Check the lines forward of the pump then. Fuel to the engine is down the right side and is hard lined. The canister is hose, down the left side to the canister. I'd check the left side first. A small crack lets all the smelly fumes out.
Did you replace the gasket on the filler neck bolt down place when you did the change??
If you did you may need to retighten the blots.
If you didnt you need to.
If you did but not with gasket material but with silacone you need to replace it with a factory gasket or (if N/A) cut yourself one out of cork gasket material.
