its located right next to your head light. on the inside.
fairly easy fix.
i am thinking maybe its jsut the gears. try them while listening to the head light motor. see if it still trys to move. if so, just replace the gears.

:iagree: Sounds like it may be just the gears.
It's a h*ll of a lot cheaper to rebuild them.
If it is the gears, I would do them both!
There is an upgrade kit to solve that problem also.

I'm thinking that it is the gears also.. I was driving and the right one didn't fold out all the way and then I went over a bump and it went to the up right position..
Do ours work like the f-body's where only 180 degrees of the gear is used?? I know there is a trend in those to just simply swap the gear around so it uses the other side that's not damaged....
Sounds more like the bushings. But, while you are replacing the bushings, it wouldn't hurt to replace the gear. I have done one side of mine. I still have to do the passenger side. It isn't hard, just time consuming. Took me about 2 hours, taking my time, to do the one side. The other side shouldn't take as long, now that I know what I am doing. :D When I opened up the motor, the bushings from the factory were dust. I upgraded the gear at the same time to a brass gear. You can get the kits that have the gear and bushings for $59.99 through Ecklers, Mid America, etc. The bushings alone are less than $10 per side. I wouldn't bother with putting another plastic gear in...although, they do sell them for around $25 each.
