Need help with PKE.
Then reprogram it.
NOTE: If the vehicle battery is disconnected (not the Transmitter battery), the PKE receiver will still remember all vehicle access codes currently programmed to that vehicle.
So disconnecting the vehicle battery doesn't have any affect on it. That note comes from the OEM Service Manual.
Steps:
1. Move Transmitter greater than 10 feet from the vehicle. (You can program up to three transmitters, so make sure all three are out of range.)
2. Turn the ignition key to the ON position.
3. Push the TRIP/ODO button on the DIC twice within 5 seconds.
4. Within 5 seconds of that, push and hold the FUEL/INFO button on the DIC until the PKE light on the DIC comes on and stays on.
5. Turn the key to the OFF position but leave the key in the ignition. The PKE ligh will come on and begin flashing. NOTE: This is the position between ON and Lock. It will not work if you turn the key too far back to the lock position (where the key can come out).
6. Bring the transmitter into range. I like to do it from the rear and look through the glass at the DIC, you can see it flashing from there. When the system recognizes the transmitter, the PKE light will stay on and stop flashing.
7. If you have another transmitter you wish to program, move the one you just programmed out of range and move the other one now into range and it will be programmed as well.
8. After one or up to three transmitters have been programmed, either remove the key or turn the ignition to ON.
The transmitters are now programmed.
FYI, for coupes the driver's side range is 5-7 feet from door handle, passenger side is 3-5 feet from handle, and 3-5 feet from the hatch. For verts, the range is 5-7 feet from the handles of either door, no rear range.
For further diagnostics the PKE lamp will flash to display DTC:
Receiver bad memory 12
Transmitter not in range 13
Non-valid transmiter received 14
Valid transmitter received 15
Passenger door button Depressed 16
Hatch button Depressed 17
Hope this helps, if it doesn't reply back with what your seeing and I'll try to help with additional diagnostics.

It will then display the codes.
The PKE receiver constantly scans for a transmitter signal. Once it has seen that the valid transmitter has gone out of range, it waits 5 seconds and locks the doors and arms the UTD (Universal Theft Deterrent) system. It will also turn off the courtesy lamps.
Check to make sure you have hatch function too.
Also always make sure the radio is off while programming the PKE to make sure of proper results.
The system starts to get complicated at this point. It still may be possible if you can identify the DTCs to complete the troubleshooting. I'll try to walk through the steps this evening if I get some time, but many of the processes require a code read to proceed to the next step.
You did check the transmitter battery right? If not try that or replace it and make sure that is not the culprit. Every time the transmitter is moved it sends a signal for about 3 seconds, so it may not be apparent but if you have it in your pocket know that its always outputting every time you walk.
Lets hope we can help you resolve this. :seeya
