I pulled out the retaining tab with some pliers as per the service manual, and the next step is to lift the wiper arm off of the transmission. It won't budge! I can't pull out the retainer anymore with pliers, and the arm won't lift off no matter what position I try it in. :banghead:

I had the same problem on both of mine as well. I took a screw driver under the arm near the pivot and used that to help pry it off. I also had to wiggle the arm some at the same time. :smash:

Man, NOTHING is working! I got a pair of vice grips on the base of the arm where it connects to the transmission, and if I put ALL my strength into pulling it, NOTHING happens. No budge, NOTHING! :cuss :cuss :banghead:

Try squirting some WD-40 up there from underneath using the little red tube that comes with the spray can. Let it set for a while, then try another squirt. Let that sit
and then try to remove it. Try to pull it in the direction of the angle it is mounted otherwise you may be binding it with a side force.
It is keyed, so it only goes on one way. They are not like other car's where you can make fine adjustments by rotating it one position or so. I assume you can get the other one off. Make sure it comes off ok and then take a look at the two mating parts to get a clear picture of what your working with. Of course that assumption is based on if you haven't ever removed them.
If the WD-40 doesn't work, then try a spray Liquid Wrench. Its probably just corroded under there and is being a royal PITA.

:seeya
That did it. WD-40 didn't work, but we had some other stuff, something like PB Dual Penetrating magnetic lubricant. One shot of that and they came right off. :banghead:
