Looking to change out my rear.. I have 3.07 in there now and looking to go to 3.73 or 3.53.. What do you think? It is not an everyday driver it is a weekend car..
What manufacture do you recommend for the Gears?
What do you think the Labor charge should be to have them installed?
Should I rebuild the rear or order a replacement? Both should be ball park same price..
Too many questions.. Thanks for your help..

96 Collectors Edition - LT4
Auto - too many options..
I put 3.73s in mine and love em droped my E.T. over 1/2 second and didnt seem to hurt my top end. Richmond gears seem to be holding up fine though I only have a few bolt ons . I noticed youre from Finksburg Im in Sykesville .I saw youre sig . I like youre set up. Did you do the work youre self . Thats exactly what I want . Dont have the knowledge though lookin for someone local who does
I put 4.11's in my LT1/6spd and it was the best bang for the money and I still get great gas mileage on the highway. I pulled the rear end myself and had a friend set up the gears for free. I bought everthing at Randy's Ring and Pinion to do the complete rear end rebuild.
Went from 3.07s to 3.73's about 4 months ago. Felt like 40hp gain, no noticable loss on top end (not many of us do more than 140mph anyway), very strong bottom end, learning to launch all over again because of tire spin, routine rubber in 2nd gear, remarkable! Performs like an old fashion muscle car.
Installed US Gears, some whine, but not bad.
Cost about $1,000 installed, another $200 to get computer re-flashed for speedo correction.
Recomend gear mod highly, best mod I've done!
