If you have a L98, I would recommend the GM Histall convertor that is found in 85 Vettes. It is cheaper and will stall to about 2200 -2400 rpms.

I ordered mine from Exit98 Motorsports and got a little bit of a discount for being a forum member.

With my stock 89 convertor, It stalled at about 1200-1300rpms.
Not good for performance at all.

Yes, the stock 85 Vette convertor is much looser than the later L98's.

Also, the S10 truck convertor is the same thing.

I have an SLP on my workbench.....I put a vigilante 3200 in.If you live near me, make me an offer. I would hate to ship it, it weighs about 50 lbs. :)
