I have a leak on my power steering pump, I plan on changing it this weekend. My local Auto Zone has a re-man pump in stock from ATSCO.
Is this a good product? Comments please.
There are a couple of hoses attached to the bottom of the pump.
Make sure THEY aren't the source of the leak before you replace the pump.
Good luck with it.
Thanks for the heads up, however I have already been that route. I changed both hoses on the pump. At the time the pump looked dry (no evidence of leakage), however there is a wet spot on the reservoir to pump hose. It appears to be dripping from above (pump area). Does any know where the weep hole is for the shaft?

I don't know about that, but make sure the source of your leak ISN'T simply the resovoir-to-rack pipe. The one on my '92 was leaking so badly it made it appear the pump itself was leaking, but it wasn't. A new pipe's cheaper than a new pump!
If you are sure that the leak is your pump another option is to rebuild the pump yourself. I bought the rebuild kit from Mid America, approx. $20.00, and rebuilt mine. It is pretty easy, the kit comes with all the new O rings you need. I use my car mostly for track days and the rebuild has held up for 5 years now.
If I recall, the pump can't be unbolted from the car without a puller. I vaguely remember that one of the bolts that holds the pump to the car is behind the pulley. Correct me if I'm wrong but I would make sure before trying to remove the pump that you aren't going to run into a frustrating problem. When I replaced mine, I used an Atsco and don't have any problems with it so far. I do know that their warranty is good if you follow their instructions. When I did mine I replaced the rack and the pump at the same time because my rack was leaking. The rack wasn't warranteed unless I replaced the pump. :seeya
Thanks for all the comments. My orginal question regarding ATSCO has been answered. It sounds like the pump is from a good vendor. I replaced the pump today. You do need a special puller available as a free loaner from Auto Zone. So far no leaks. :hurray:
