I have read on here before that some guys were using the Trans-go shift kit,but I was wandering just how hard does it shift? I have had the tranny in my Monte Carlo SS worked and it gets on my nerves it shift so hard.I just want the Vette to shift firm enough that I don't have to stand on it to break the tires in second. Thanks in advance!!!!!
I have a full Transgo Kit in my 700R (86 vette) & it shifts hard. Not neck snapping hard, but hard enough that you definately notice each and every shift. I wanted it setup that way. Of course, I don't use my vette daily, but I love the way it feels when I do drive it. Needless to say, I can brake em loose now, np.
If you use a "modified" Trans-Go Performance Shift kit, it will shift smooth around town, and the shifts will get progressively firmer with more throttle.

I have their kit and absolutly love it, get a good trans shop to install it!
I just had one installed in my 85. Over the last three weeks I have had to re-learn my tranny. It shifts harder at different throttle positions and now when I don't want a hard shift I know where in the RPM range to make it shift. I spent a little time with the mechanic that installed mine and told him just what I wanted. That really helped. I got just what I wanted out of the kit. Not too hard but deffinately firm and if I want, a good chirp from first to second.
