I hate these damn lights. Heres my question, I get out on the highway doing approx 70 mph and about 10-15 minutes after I get up to app 70 mph, the service engine light comes on. I could drive around town all day in my vette and the light will never come on. At the end of my trip to wherever on the highway, if I turn off the vette then turn it back on, the light goes out. I am having no performance problems on the highway. I do not have the diagnostic tool within range of where I am right now, so I was just curious if anyone could give me the heads up as to what they think this may be. Thanks.
Do you have access to a paper clip? Then you have a diagnostic tool. Jump A&B on the ADL (sp?) port under the dash and watch the flashes while counting. First you will see three sets of 12 and then your trouble codes and then three sets of 12.
Possible O2 Sensor problem or EGR Valve problem. Had both of those issues on my 93. Service Engine light acted the same way. Only surefire way is diagnosis, but the above is my guess.
I joke you not, I just came home from work and I took the interstate, which I never do here in San Antonio, If you have ever been here you would know what I mean,,,,, drivers here are nuts
The same exact thing happened to me...... I'll try the paperclip thing and let you know
