Have you guys ever had a problem with the ring around the shift that you need to pull up in order to shift into reverse? For some reason I do not believe its the tranny but the actual ring you need to pull up to get it into reverse. Could something have come off that prevents it from being able to reverse.
sounds like you are referring to the reverse lock-out feature.....if the ring slips up too far thus not allowing reverse to be engaged, then it my guess the tiny nylon screw broke, or is missing.
Thanks bradvette, I noticed there is a small allen wrench type screw on the shifter itself. Is this the nylon screw you are talking about? Is it supposed to be attached or screwed on the ring?
Dennis 01, the screw goes on the small hole that is on the vertical part of
the ring you pull up to engage reverse right? That hole for a scre is pretty small.
Yes the hole is between the round ring and the bottom of
the shift **** on the vertical shaft. It takes a very small
allen wrench (don't know what size ). All I had to do to fix
mine was to tighten up the set screw. Good Luck. :)
Just checked the size of the allen wrench its 1/16 inch.
