C4 Intake Coolant Leak
Do I need to addres this ASAP or can it wait a month?
Any estimate on the time involved to remove allthe upper intake stuff and any tips before I start?
Any preferred gaskett manufacturer?
Should I seal the ends with RTV?
Any other things I should replace while I'm "in there"?
I only saw coolant leaking out when I drove the car really hard and my low coolant light would come when the engine was pretty much cold.
The coolant leak was on the driver side, front to back.. but more in front.
I tightened the bolts down on the driver side and I compared how tight they were to the passenger side and there was a big difference, you could almost say they were loose  , I'm guessing the engine vibrations got them loose like that.
Anyway's just doing that fixed my problem, the low coolant light never came back, I never saw any coolant leaking out any more, and the engine used to smell like coolant.
I have none of these symptoms any more.
I'm planning on putting on a super ram this winter "if I have enough money banked"
So I'll end up changing the gasket Anyway's
Try to tightened your bolts first.... then if that doesn't work you'll have to change the Intake base manifold gasket.
This is my post I made a few weeks ago on the forum.. please read it.
