I did a TB bypass and lost soome coolant. I filled it back up at the rad cap and in the reservour. Now I heard that 'bleeding' the system might be necessary. Is it, and how is it done? Any help appreciated. '95 LT1

First of all, I'd like to suggest that you buy a Helms Service Manual for your year Vette. I know it's expensive, but it will pay for itself in one or two projects, and it tells exactly how to bleed the system. Okay, Run your car to it's operating temp (open thermostat) let cool, check level. It may take a couple of cycles. The TB bypass eliminated one of the bleed screws (at least on my 92). On a refill the bleed screws should be open until coolant comes out then closed, but you probably don't need to do that this time.

The by pass just took out two 'hose ports'. I just connected the outlet hose to the inlet metal tube and clamped it off, and put caps on the ports. I read about doing it this way in the forum I think. Wasn't much involved really. I've driven it some and did notice a little coolant on top of the reservoir but it seems to run OK, and no leaks on the clamp job. Temp seemed to be in the normal range although it was short runs and not sustained high speed driving. Outside temp was about 75. Think I'm OK?
