This depends. Do you plan on modifying the car much beyond what you have done already? If it were me I would suggest to you the y-pipe w/o cats as long as you did not already plan on spending $500ish for longtube headers down the road. I think you will gain more by ditching the cats than you will by adding roller rockers. You're intake is already a bottleneck and adding more lift to the cam isn't going to help you as much as being able to get out what is already going into those chambers.

You're in Nashua, no emissions? I'd ditch ALL the cats.

MR = Miniram
SR = Superram

Both of them are different kinds of intakes I wouldn't mind having but can't afford.

If the intake is the bottleneck at this time, wouldn't it make more sense to go with the SLP runners? :confused:

And, NO, I don't plan on any major mods in the future.

I personally don't think (Others like Vic and 65Z01 are better to give an opinion on this) there is as much gain with the runners and a stock base. If you had an aftermarket base I would say go for it.

The intake was designed for a 305ci engine. The exhaust manifolds are not that much better. The day you take the manifolds off and look at their ports is the day you bust your azz laughing when you see them. :)

Well Scorp, you've been in the same boat I have. There's always the whole "while I'm into it" fever.

I can see this costing much more than $300. :reddevil

Scorps right on the exhaust manifolds.
The ports on the manifold are about as big around as your thumb.
What a JOKE! I can't believe GMPT did this. What were they smoking??

A air compressor and a 20 buck die grinder can fix that pretty easily though.
But they are still restricted where GM smashed the four pipes in half to bring them into a 'collector' of sorts.
Headers can fix it a WHOLE LOT better.

Edit: BTW: use the same die grinder on your stock plenum and base manifold.
You can use it to cut your plugs back too, if you're careful.

Oh, bump your base timing up a couple degrees if you ALWAYS run 91 octane or above.

Thanks, guys, for all the input.

I'm surprised that the performance chip didn't get any support. I would have thought that a Hypertech chip would do me some good at this point.

Nope, I highly doubt it would. All the hypertech chip does is severely advance your timing.

You could also (for free) remove your plenum and grind the obstructions out of it that are behind the throttle body.

I didn't notice any mention of what rear gear you are running. If you still have 2.59s I would move up to 3.07 rear gears. I have seen guys selling the chunks for around $300 if you do the labor yourself.

If gears are not an option I would say either an 85 vette converter or roller rockers.
I never did find out what the 85 converter was going to do for me. :confused:

The '85 Vettes had a higher stall speed torque converter in them than the later models. I'll have to let someone who knows more about this say exactly how it helps, I think it just lets your motor spool up faster and get in its power band sooner.
