My father just bought his first C4. It's an 86. My question is that his head lights flip up and turn on fine but do not flip back down.. im thinking that it's some kind of relay but I've never worked on vettes before.. if so where would it be or what else could it be?

Re: head light issue (Boostedpimp)
The bushing in the electric motor is worn out. There was a "how to" story on this repair in Corvette Fever. The cost is just a few bucks and it sounded like a straight forward fix. The story ran a little over a year ago I think. Maybe somebody else can help out with a date of the issue it was in.
Thanks JOE.. I guess I can only hope that someone with that info steps up to the plate  because it sucks not being able to put your lights down.
I do believe there are 3 relays that control the light doors. Two to open the doors, and one to close them. I'll check this on my lunch hour and get back to you.

There are three relays, one is used to close both lamp doors. I guess it could be the motor or relay. I thought I had a motor issue so I removed the motor from the door assy.. I then reattached the power to the motor and it statred to spin. I guess this confirmed the motor and gears were okay.
