Good high flow CAT?
I'm planning on changing my main CAT and I've mainly been recommended two high flow CATS.
Magnaflow and Ramdomtech
Heres what I found for the Magnaflow, but I was told I would have to have it welded on my exhaust.

Witch one is better? the Magnaflow is only 35$ but I know I need to have it welded, but I've heard Random tech can simply be bolted on.

Re: Good high flow CAT? (2nd2SEX)
Randomtech is better but WAY more expensive +$200 per cat. RandomTech flows around 500cfm. Magnaflow is made by Carsound and flow 400+CFM which is fine for most cars, unless you have ExTrEmE mods.

I can't find a comparison of Carsound to RandomTech, but here's a website that compares several brands from an LS-1, including Carsound.

Re: Good high flow CAT? (CentralCoaster)
The 3" RandomTech can flow 500 cfm, and the 2.5" Carsound flows 400 cfm.
But.. this is all apples to oranges. Carsound also makes a 3" cat, i'm looking for numbers on it.
a 3 inch cat has 40% more crosssectional area than a 2.5 inch.

Re: Good high flow CAT? (CentralCoaster)
So? I guess the Magnaflow Carsound Catalytic Converter is one of the best on this comparison chart.
I think for the price... 35$ us compared to 200$ for a Ramdomtech... is a lot cheeper.
hmmm I'll see what I end up doing... I know that Magnaflow has to be welded and the Ramdomtech can be bolted on.

This compares the Carsound (Magnaflow) and bullit Random Tech. The Carsound outflows the RT. The metallic RT flow the best, but are very $$$$.

Re: Good high flow CAT? (CentralCoaster)
According to David Vizard,
2.5" Carsound Catalytic Converter = 436.7 cfm @ 28" H2O
According to Quick Time Performance of NJ,
3.0" Carsound Catalytic Converter = 400.0 cfm @ 28" H2O
Something doesn't add up here. :skep: There's no way a 2.5" cat should outflow a 3"
