Emergency Brake sticking
This is a new vehicle to me and I decided to use the E. Brake. After releasing the handle, the brake continued to stay engaged. After trying everything, backing and the such, i turned it off and lifted the hood, nothing amiss there, , when I fired her back up, the brake had released. Haven't used the brake since. Last weekend I felt a brake drag , I put the car in Neutral and coasted to see if it were something else, when I reengaged the tranny, the brake had released. Alittle understanding of Vette braking system is in order for me. Help, I want to make a 4 hr run to Cruisn the Coast this weekend. :mad

Jack the rear end up, trans in neutral, spin the rear tires by hand to be sure they are free...set the e - brake and release it. Now try and spinning the rear tires by hand. If they won't turn, remove the cover on the e-brake handle. Try cleaning the mechanism and spraying it with a silcon spray. If that didn't do it then check your cables for any binding or kinked. From there you're on to the e-brake itself. I hope you have invested in a shop manual.

I had that problem with mine this summer ....a nut had fallen in the release mechanisum and was jamming the release..........get in there and check it out its very easy for things to fall in .
