Brakes locked on, help.
While out cruising this weekend my brakes partially locked on. From a standing start it feels like the emergency brake is halfway on. Doesn"t seem to be a problem at higher speeds. The problem definitely is most noticable when pulling away from a standing start. I could smell the pads after a few minutes so I shut it down. The emergency brake is off and I also turned off ASR with no effect. What do you think? Is it something I can fix myself or do I have to take it to the shop?

That depends on how good of a mechanic you are. First I would jack up the car to see if the brakes are really hanging up. Remember, you have a limited slip rearend and you will need to get both back wheels up and put it in newtral to check the rear. If it's the back, you could have a cable problem or a hydrolic problem. Do you normally use your emergency brake and did you use it just before the problem started? If you can feel the drag and smell your brakes maybe they are dragging. If you just smell pads it may be just hard driving.
