I have AC Delco Rapidfires, MSD 8.5mm wires, stock cap/rotor/coil

Stock HEI stuff is just fine until you do some real mods, you wont really benefit that much from buying the expensive stuff on a stock engine.

Although i am going to get a Hypertech cap/coil/rotor soon, in prep for later mods.

Replace the fuel filter, change the oil with a good filter, clean the air filter or buy a K&N

Congrats on your new Vette; enjoy it and save the wave.

Since you should change rotor & cap as a matched pair, the HyperTech coil/cap/rotor makes sense and is a simple bolt on.

TPIS wires have a nice stock look, fit the stock looms and are lower resistance than stock wires and are spiral wound.

AC Delco plugs with cut-back electrodes (details on myt site, see sig. below) will give a nice 8-10 chp gain.

Rapid Fire Plugs
Accel Wires
Accel Cap/Rotor
Delco Air/Oil Filter
Mobil 1

Might want to start a poll on this one :D

FYI - I do have a brand new K&N filter if you want to go that way. Drop me an email if your interested.

You can't beat NGK copper plugs.

Also, if you have any minor oil leaks, DON'T use Mobil 1. Clean out the throttle body and plenum too.

More expensive doesn't always mean it suits your needs better. :flag

For a tuneup I'll list what I'd do if I didn't know the history of the car even though I know others have. :)

Air Filter
Fuel Filter
Spark Plugs
Plug Wires
Distributor Cap & Rotor
PCV Valve
Oil
Oil Filter
Power Steering Fluid
Differential Fluid
Transmission Fluid

I might leave the HEI coil alone for now if it shows no signs of failing. The L98 only really makes power to 4200 RPM and the OEM coils will go for what seems like forever at those low RPMs.

When you pull the oil cap off take a look inside the valve cover. If things like nice and clean with just sort of a golden/bronze shine on things then the engien has been maintained well. If you see black sludge built up then somebody didn't care for your baby. :)
